SoundExchange collects digital performance royalties when songs are played on non-interactive digital radio platforms including Pandora, SiriusXM, and internet radio stations.

Artists must register with SoundExchange to collect these royalties. Payments are distributed directly to performers and master recording owners.

Mechanical Royalties (MLC)

Mechanical royalties are generated when songs are streamed or reproduced on services like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. In the United States, these royalties are managed by the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC).
